Fundamental Accounting Principles

Students will be introduced to double entry bookkeeping and basic accounting principles and terminology. Classification of accounts, debits and credits, journal entries and preparation of financial statements will be examined by the students. Students learn to be creative in providing solutions to problems and issues they face by relating these to past events they have encountered.

Medical Insurance, Accounting and Law

10 weeks / 12 Quarter Credit Hours

This course will enlighten students to the process of insurance filing and reimbursement from various carriers. The basics of medical accounting will be taught and will include instruction on AR, AP, deposits, and other aspects of accounting. Students will also study the law and ethics of the health care field. Basic language principles will be studied through written communication with techniques of gathering, organizing and processing information in a written context.
