Associate of Arts in Accounting

Axia College of University of Phoenix offers an Associates of Arts degree with specializations in business, accounting, information technology, criminal justice, health care administration, human services management, communication, psychology, and paraprofessional education. Master of Business Administration/Human Resources Management

Our Master in Business Administration with a specialization in Human Resource Management (MBA/HRM) program is tailored to enhance the skills of current managers, prepare them for the future and be flexible enough to fit the hectic schedules of working professionals. Students with career interests in the nonprofit sector are encouraged to apply for admission to the program because the skills of human resource management apply equally to the issues of both the public and private sectors. The requirements for the MBA/HRM program require at least three years of relevant experience and a practical background in business.

Master of Management/Human Resources Management

Graduates of our Master of Management/Human Resources Management (MM/HRM) program are effective contributors to any organization. Individuals learn to integrate company practices and concepts presented in this program to develop programs for specific managerial issues found inside the organizational setting. Focus areas include development of human capital, conflict management, using organizational design to foster creativity and innovation as well as skills for managing in a multicultural environment. Students refine their problem-solving skills, communication, creativity, information-utilization, and critical thinking with the MM/HRM program at University of Phoenix.

Throughout their course of study, students will be challenged to develop solutions to problems ranging from change leadership, crisis management and identifying growth opportunities and to ably debate the merits of their solutions. Students gain experience in essential decision making skills, including cause analysis, using various tools and concepts to analyze solutions and the ability to select and justify chosen solutions.

The MM/HRM program is comprised of 45 credit hours and involves three proficiency courses, which can be satisfied in one of the following ways:

  • Undergraduate business degree earned within the past ten years; or
  • Similar undergraduate business courses that meet the University's standard course waiver criteria; or
  • Comparable graduate business coursework that meets the University's customary coursework waiver criteria - only in the event no undergraduate business courses can be applied.

Additional credit hours (up to 9) may be waived using graduate courses that meet the University's standard course waiver criteria. The MM/HRM program requires a minimum residency of 27 credit hours to complete the program.

The Bachelor of Science in Business/Management

The Bachelor of Science in Business/Management degree is geared towards adults, employed full time, who need further knowledge and skills to use in management of private and public companies. The curriculum concentrates on performance evaluation tools, labor law, public relations and marketing, financial analysis, world-wide business strategies, and quality management.

Master of Management (MM)

If you're looking to enhance your management skills in order to work effectively in your organization, The Master of Management program is for you. The human side of an organization, leadership and management, is what students focus upon. The program, designed with feedback and crucial inputs from senior business executives, curriculum-design experts, and academic professionals from universities, concentrates primarily on the current trends in management theory, techniques, and practices.

The MM program further develops skills needed by managers such as problem solving, information processing, and choosing the right plan of action. Graduates leave this program with the skills needed to evaluate and manage the many challenges that face modern organizations. There are thirty-nine credit hours in the MM program. The core curriculum is made up of thirty hours of classes, supplemented by nine additional hours to complete the MM program. The final three courses permit the student to customize their degree program in a particular specialization by focusing primarily on present developments, business issues, and issues related to the specialization. Managerial Communication and Ethics is a core three-credit, six-workshop program prerequisite which helps build strategies for success throughout the remainder of the program.

The rest of the core courses provide a basis of analytical and conceptual skills and techniques for effective management decisions in the modern day company. In order to improve their problem-solving skills, students in the MM program who have no specialization will be required to take three additional courses. The last three courses will adapt students for general management roles in both executive leadership and decision-making. The most noticeable result will be finishing a project that is introduced in the first of three specialization courses. In the last course of this program, the project will be presented in its finished form. Post undergraduate courses in business through the University of Phoenix are hands-on, multimedia based, and case-based examples.

Applying critical thinking skills to decision-making situations in real-world settings is what students learn in these simulations. This exploration lets students use pertinent thought processes in decision-making situations. These simulations give students the chance to diagnose the information necessary for solving the problem, assess all possible options, and receive input on their actions.

Master of Management - The International Master of Management (MM-I)

This program is designed to teach management skills needed for effective business practices within an international organization. Input from senior global executives, curriculum-design experts, and university academic professionals has been integrated into the MM-I program. This program was specifically created for individuals that want to concentrate primarily on leadership management, otherwise known as the human aspect of an organization.

The MM-I program gets students ready to become managers by outlining various business problems, assessing available information, adequately considering alternatives, and then taking that information and choosing the best solution. There is a purposeful design in trios for the classes that are within the thirty credit hour MM-I program. The preliminary courses will inform students on how organizations embrace cultural diversity and reward excellent communication and management skills to reach the pinnacle of success in their industry. The second group of three provides the political, economic and legal information necessary for participation in international business. The last trio gets students ready to make real world decisions by adding problems and issues into each course.
