Kaplan College, formerly Texas Careers, is designed to provide students with the career training they need to begin entry-level positions in new careers. This training focuses on providing students with real-world experience and hands-on learning opportunities in order to enable students to build the necessary professional skills. Students who enter the paralegal program, for example, learn the core areas of law and court systems. Students learn how to perform legal research, understand legal technology, and utilize legal software programs and Internet legal sites. Students in each program learn core competencies to prepare them for their new careers.
Admittance to Kaplan College is a non-competitive process. To qualify for admission, students must be high school graduates or the equivalent. High school graduates should call their local Kaplan College campus to schedule a campus tour, and the admissions advisor will conduct an interview to determine whether a Kaplan College education meets the student's needs. If the Kaplan College program is a good fit, students will be invited to enroll. Qualifying students may be eligible for various financial aid programs.
