Students at Jones International University can study a curriculum in one of two schools: the School of Business or the School of Education.

Jones International University classes are divided into weekly modules. Students complete an online instruction unit, a reading assignment, participate in forum discussions, and work on a project or write a paper during the weekly module. At the end of the week, all assignments must be complete, as the class moves on to the next module.
The JIU system includes an asynchronous forum, which enables students to post when convenient, but students must participate during the week and comment on responses. Classes require anywhere from 6 to 19 hours per week, between studying, completing coursework, and participating in discussions.
Students who have earned transfer credits at another university may be eligible to transfer them to a JIU education. Admission requirements vary by degree, and students may receive credit for non-academic learning.
Jones International University focuses on educating complete professionals, and providing them with the tools that they need to succeed. One of these tools is the Total Professional Advantage 2.0, or TPA. This is a career development portal customized for each student at Jones International University.
TPA includes career development workshops, 120 minutes of guidance provided by a licensed Professional Career Advisor, a blog and bulletin board, the Jones E-Global Library, and various additional career development tools and resources. Students can use the TPA to build a professional portfolio online, and receive feedback from faculty and an advisor on that portfolio.
