Accounting majors will graduate prepared for a number of careers, including public accounting, financial analysis, corporate accounting, and internal auditing, among others. You will learn how to prepare, audit and analyze financial statements of both public and private entities. We teach the fundamentals of managing cost accounting and analyzing financial data to be used for intelligent decision making. The accounting programs outline corporate taxation, accounting information systems, consolidated entities of accounting, and other specialized accounting information.
Once you finish the undergraduate program you are ready to sit for the CMA exam. The University's undergraduate Commerce Program equips one to qualify as a Certified Management Accountant. CMA qualification is an internationally recognized Professional program. This course infuses strong managerial capabilities and makes the candidate positively effect the organization with whom they work for. The prospective candidates have to complete 150 credit hours in order to qualify as a CPA (Certified Public Accountant).
Completion of 150 hours of coursework is required to be certified as a CPA (Certified Public Accountant). A student that completes the undergraduate program will be eligible to sit for the Uniform CPA exam and after additional courses to be qualified to receive a license.
Master of Business Administration with an Emphasis in Accounting
An Emphasis in Accounting program will prepare students with a Grand Canyon University's Master of Business Administration degree through emphasis coursework that covers the areas of specialized accounting and emerging topics, regulation, auditing, management accounting and reporting, and financial accounting and reporting to apply for advanced management positions.
