Classes are offered at reginal campuses in Milwaukee and Edina, Minn, as well as other satellite locations within the two states.

Bachelor of Science in Business Administration program

At 41 credits, the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration program is an upper division academic program especially crafted to help adults augment their experience with management theory.

This course of study has a special focus on technical and quantitative abilities as well as management science, and offers a good balance of philosophical and practical implementation. The curriculum is a challenge that will prepare each student for the complex business world. Students instantly utilize the on-the-job expertise they studied in the class.

Students will choose from courses including:

  • accounting
  • finance and financial administration
  • statistics
  • management and planning
  • marketing
  • business law
  • management information systems
  • economics
  • and business ethics.

Courses are organized so that students take one class at a time and the curriculum follows a specific order. Classes are held once a week for four hours and typically last five weeks in length. Students also benefit from peer learning, meeting in study groups of three to five students for fours a week to work on assigned projects. At the end of the course, you'll need to complete a capstone course. The capstone course will use your accumulated knowledge, and will include a major paper addressing a concern or issue in your work environment.

The BS in Business Administration is granted to students who use the above courses to build on traditional and nontraditional learning experiences. The BSBA degree requires at least 128 undergraduate credits.

Bachelor of Science in Human Services Management

As a program designed for adult learners who want to relate business and management theory to practical career experience, this program is a 41-credit, upper divison, academic program which awards students, at its completion, a Bachelor of Science in Human Services Management.

The program focuses mainly on developing the knowledge and skills essential for the management of human services whether in the not-for-profit or for-profit organization. Providing a well rounded and thorough foundation in the management of human services organizations, the program offers coursework in the following areas: management and supervision, legal and ethical issues, community resources development, communications and grant writing, human resources, finance and budgeting, marketing and fundraising, statistics, and strategy.

Students take one class at a time, in a specific sequence, in this sequentially structured curriculum. Through the community service projects, in addition to their classroom education, students are able to practice what they have learned.

A Capstone Course, as the final course in the sequence, emphasizes the procedure to combine all the coursework from a previous class sequence. Students are able to earn a Bachelor of Science in Human Services management degree by taking advantage of the management core to build upon their foundation of both traditional and non-traditional learning experiences. To earn the BS-HSM degree, students need at least 128 undergraduate credits.

Certificate in Human Resource Management

The Certificate in Human Resource Management (CHRM) program focuses on issues and aspects that Human Resource professionals will deal with on a daily basis, including legal matters, and staff recruitment and development.

This program is designed for those who have a functional responsibility to carry out the duties of an organization’s human resource department. This may include seasoned HR staff members wishing to keep current, newcomers to the field requiring new knowledge and skills, or specialists wanting to broaden their knowledge base.

Practical applications of the principles of human resource management as well the skills required for it constitute the major emphasis of this program. This program teaches students to deal with the important issues that affect the workplace on a daily basis.

The Bachelor of Science degree in management

The Bachelor of Science in Management program is a 41 credit upper division academic program that was intended for adult learners who want to apply their practical working experiences to business and management theory.

The program gives special emphasis to the knowledge and skills critical for human resources management in private and public organizations. The program provides course work that is comprehensive and practical when applied to social and management sciences; the curriculum covers the following areas in detail: oral and written communications; leadership, human resources management, organizational behavior and business ethics; management information systems, statistics, and marketing; and financial planning and control.

The main courses are structured consecutively, with students studying one course at a time. Typically, classes meet for five weeks, once each week for a four-hour time period. Study groups ranging from 3 to 5 people will take place outside of the classroom for at least four hours a week for both individual and group projects. A capstone course is required at the conclusion of the program, and contains material covered in prior course work focusing on strategic organizational leadership as well as the successful completion of a term paper designed to address an issue, problem or concern in the student's work environment.

Students earn a Bachelor of Science in Management degree using the management courses as a foundation for traditional and non-traditional educational experiences. In order to be awarded a BSM degree, a student must complete a total of 128 undergraduate credits.

Certificate in Project Management

The Certificate in Project Management program addresses the requirements of a workforce that will undergo many changes, as companies become increasingly flatter, and cross-functional teams and project managers are replacing the old guard.

This program's target audience includes First Line and Technical Managers, Project Team Leaders, and those involved in production, engineering, and human resources, among others.

This six course program is equal to 18 credits, and deals with qualitative, and quantitative skills, and training. The standard software the program utilizes is Microsoft Project. The order of the courses has been sequenced this way purposely to give the student the best possible education.

Certificate in Sales and Sales Management

The Certificate in Sales and Sales Management (CSM) program focuses on the awareness and abilities vital to success in sales and sales management careers.

The program offers courses in selling adeptness and skills, interpersonal effectiveness in management and sales, sales closing techniques, cogent negotiating and bargaining methods, and the role and the functions of a sales manager in the inclusive organization.

The Master of Science in Management MSM

This degree program is a 33-credit program that aids in your development and knowledge of organizations. In this program students will learn how effective leadership encourages achievement of an organization's objectives and goals while exploring basic management functions in depth.

The primary course of study emphasizes human resource management as it applies to productivity, quality, and realizing organizational goals by dealing with individual and group behaviors found in an organization. You will learn how important teamwork and community service will be to analyzing effectiveness in the workplace. In-depth analysis of ethical and social considerations are explored by students as a key component of this management program.

Additionally, the program introduces students to language theories, and the tools of accounting and finance, while enabling them to cultivate skills and concepts necessary to manage data technology effectively and purposefully. The applied case study gives students a way to think critically and creatively, to help develop and implement management strategies in the ever-changing world.

Exercises also engage students in solving problems and making decisions in developing and facing entrepreneurial opportunities for competitive advancement, and organizational success. In the last course, students incorporate ideas learned during the MSM degree program using the case study approach, and learn to apply the analytical tactics to meet challenges and opportunities experienced by organizations in an environment of continuous change.
