The Department of Business and Economics has four majors: economics, accounting, business,, and international business. Baker's business students who graduate are highly recruited by business. All students are gradually employed in a graduate or professional program within a few months of graduation.

Recent employment placement rates at the College are high. Eighty percent are employed while 19% have pursued advanced degrees. Baker business students are more than ready to succeed in the business world from the very minute they graduate. At the national level exam for determining students' knowledge upon graduation, Baker students are regularly placed within the top 20 positions.

Baker University's Accounting Program is well equipped to adopt a real-world approach to teaching. Individuals can graduate in 4 years, prepared to compete in the tough business world, or to pursue a post graduate degree program.

The students enrolling in The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants have to finish 150 hours of their course work in order to take the CPA examination. Many schools have been prompted by this to setup five-year accounting programs. Baker University allows students to get a degree in accounting in 4 years.

The four-year program at Baker requires the completion of two semesters as well as an interterm that lasts three weeks. In Baker College the Interterm classes are held in January, which is between the fall and spring semesters. Students are allowed to take up to 16 credit hours of classes each semester. Sixteen hours multiplied by eight semesters equals 128 credits.

Students may take up to four Interterm courses. Baker College offers degree programs that will challenge you academically and give you professional training, providing all students with a "feather in their cap" when it comes to breaking into the professional world.

You may complete 150 credits in four years by utilizing summer courses and internships, which account for 10 credits.
