Akron Institute is a division of Herzing University, located in Akron, Ohio. Akron Institute provides hands-on, job-related skills training. Akron Institute offers bachelor's degrees, associate's degrees, and diplomas in various career-related training programs. Akron Institute also offers IT certifications through its Tech Academy programs, including network systems, a Certificate in Microsoft Networking, a Certificate in Cisco Networking, and other valuable IT-related certifications. Akron Institute also offers Career Services, designed to help students find job placement.

To provide added flexibility for students, students of the Akron Institute can attend classes on campus, online, or both. Students can earn an Akron Institute degree or certification entirely on campus, entirely online, or using both options as needed.

This enables adult students working full-time jobs, or students with other time commitments, to earn an Akron Institute degree, diploma, or certification as their schedule permits. On-campus classes include morning, afternoon, and evening classes in order to serve students on any schedule.

Students at Akron Institute, including students enrolled in a Tech Academy program, are eligible to apply for federal funding. Students of both the Akron Institute and the Tech Academy may be eligible for grants, student loans, and a college work-study program, in addition to private funding opportunities. Akron Institute also provides scholarship opportunities for both high school students and adult learners, depending on financial need, written recommendations, and a qualifying essay.
